Dodgers 2080 (“we,” “us,” “the site”) is a fan-run Dodgers news and content site at dodgers2080.com. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how it’s handled.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use analytics and advertising tools that collect standard technical information from every visitor — IP address (used for general location, not stored against your identity), browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you got here. This is done through:
- Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) — site traffic and usage statistics.
- Google AdSense — serves the ads on this site and may use cookies to personalize them based on your browsing activity across other sites. You can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Jetpack Stats (WordPress.com/Automattic) — additional visit statistics.
These tools set cookies in your browser. We use Google’s Consent Mode, which adjusts what these tools collect based on your cookie choices where required by your region’s law.
If you sign in to Insider
Dodgers 2080 Insider is a members-only section. Signing in requires a Google account, and by signing in you share the following with us:
- Your name, email address, and profile picture, provided by Google.
- Whether you’re subscribed to the Dodgers 2080 YouTube channel — we check this directly with YouTube’s API to confirm Insider access. We do not receive your YouTube watch history, your other subscriptions, or anything else from your YouTube or Google account beyond that one check.
This information is stored in our database to remember that you’re an approved Insider member. After signing in, your browser holds a session token (not your Google password, which we never see) that keeps you logged in — this token lives only in your browser and is cleared when you sign out or close your browser.
Some Insider members are approved manually by site staff using just an email address, without ever going through Google sign-in themselves until they choose to log in.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes. Information passes through:
- Google — for sign-in, the YouTube subscription check, Analytics, and AdSense, as described above.
- Automattic (Jetpack/WordPress.com) — our site host and stats provider.
- Cloudflare — routes traffic to our servers securely; sees standard connection metadata like any network provider would.
Your choices
- To stop appearing as an Insider member, or to have your account information removed from our database, email us at the address below.
- You can revoke Dodgers 2080’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google’s Ad Settings or your browser’s cookie controls.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes, and update the date at the top.
