Dodgers Prospects Spring Training Highlights: Zach McKinstry, Bobby Miller, Landon Knack and More

Game 4

Spring Training games are now becoming a regular part of our routine. I really like the night games as it allows me to watch them. For the 4th game of the exhibition season, the Dodgers played against the Reds. In the starting lineup were prospects Zach McKinstry, Luke Raley, and Zach Reks. The prospect pitchers announced were Bobby Miller, Garrett Cleavinger, and Landon Knack. As always a lot of other prospects made it into the game including Michael Busch, James Outman, Miguel Vargas, Sheldon Neuse, DJ Peters, and Ryan Noda,

Zach McKinstry is opening some eyes again this Spring Training as he started in center field. There is no doubt he is in line for a utility role. In the second inning McKinstry hit a solid single to CF to plate the first run of the game for the Dodgers.

After McKinstry’s RBI, Luke Raley hit a sacrifice fly to left field. It wasn’t very deep but it got the job done.

Many of us of been waiting to see 2020 first-rounder Bobby Miller take the mound. Tonight we got to see him and he looked pretty good in a 6-pitch inning despite hitting a batter.

Garrett Cleavinger was a lot better tonight than in his first game. He had a nice 1,2,3 inning with a swinging strikeout. However, a highlight was a throw by Sheldon Neuse which clocked in a 250 MPH. Neuse later had a single in the 7th inning.

James Outman worked an 11 pitch at-bat into a walk, off of left-hander Josh Osich. Miguel Vargas looked faster on the bases as he beat out a double-play ball and scored from first on a double. We also got to see the 2020 2nd round draft pick, Landon Knack. He looked great for a bit then struggled a bit as he gave up a two-run home run.

Please do me a favor and take a look at a friend-of-the-site who is starting a sports card collectible business. I’ve purchased some cards from them and everything went well. The cards came to me quickly and in perfect shape.

The Dodgers and Reds ended up with a tie ballgame tonight, 4-4. Tomorrow, the Dodgers play the Cubs at 5:05 PM PST. Josiah Gray will be making his spring debut at some time during the game. I cannot wait.
