Oklahoma City Comets (Triple-A)

Landon Knack was the story last night. Six-plus innings, eight strikeouts, zero walks, one earned run. That’s the kind of line that makes you sit up and pay attention. The left-hander earned the win in OKC’s 7-2 victory over Las Vegas—a performance that showed real command and poise. When a prospect at this level can punch out eight without issuing a free pass, you’re looking at someone who’s working with conviction.

Offensively, we got some timely production. James Tibbs III connected for a homer with a man on, driving in three runs total. Zach Ehrhard went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, staying active in the middle of the lineup. Alek Thomas added two hits, and Hyeseong Kim contributed a double and an RBI from the middle infield. Ryan Fitzgerald also went deep. Mike Sirota went 2-for-5 at the plate.

Josue De Paula worked a pair of walks in three at-bats—not a huge night at the plate, but he was patient and scored a run. The walk rate there is worth noting; that’s a skill that plays at every level.
