Our guys in OKC had a night to remember, sweeping El Paso in a pair of dominant performances. The first game was a barnburner—a 14-7 win where the bats came alive early and often. Matt Gorski was the star, finishing 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, and 5 RBIs. That’s the kind of middle-of-the-order damage we want to see. Alek Thomas went 3-for-3 with a triple and two walks, something you don’t see every day. He’s locked in right now—that’s a player making a statement in the stretch run.

The supporting cast was deep. Zach Ehrhard rapped out three hits including two doubles with three runs scored and a steal. Austin Gauthier contributed a homer and two RBIs. Noah Miller added a solo shot. Even Chris Newell chipped in a hit and RBI while swiping a pair of bags. This wasn’t a one-man show—it was a lineup firing on all cylinders.

The pitching held up enough to get the job done, though it wasn’t clean. Charlie Barnes worked four innings, struck out four, but gave up four earned runs on two walks. Jonathan Hernández came in and earned the win in relief, working a scoreless inning with a strikeout.

The nightcap was tighter—a 4-3 nail-biter where we saw more of what’s working. Alek Thomas did it again, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and a run. That’s exactly the kind of efficient, strike-throwing outing we need from a prospect trending upward. Romero improved to 11-5—keep an eye on this one. He’s carved out a real role.

A sweep over a division rival this late in the season sends a message. Both Thomas and Gorski are locked in at the exact moment that matters most.
