The Dodgers promoted left-handed-hitting second baseman Michael Busch to Triple-A today.
As is stated in the above tweet, Busch was slashing .306/.445/.667 (AVG/OBP/SLG) at Double-A. He plays mainly at second base but has had some starts in left field. In college at North Carolina, he played mostly first base. The Dodgers drafted him with the 31st pick in the 2019 draft specifically because of his hitting. They immediately started working with him at second base. In 2021 he saw some time at first base but only a bit.
Busch got a heck of a start in his first game at Triple-A with a homer in his second at-bat. He’s been hot all year and we even featured him in an article about some hot hitters in the minors.
I have to be honest, it would not shock me to see him debut in the major leagues this season. During Spring Training in 2022, I was able to watch a few of his at-bats up close.
He has a great approach and an amazing swing. I cannot wait to see him at Dodger Stadium.
