Oklahoma City Comets (Triple-A)

Jackson Ferris took over the mound Tuesday night and reminded everyone why he’s on the radar. The left-hander went 7.2 innings of spotless baseball, struck out 13, and walked just one. No earned runs. El Paso couldn’t touch him. This is the kind of performance that gets noticed in the organization — elite stuff with command that was sharp all night. Keep an eye on this one.

The lineup did its part too, putting up 12 runs and making Ferris’s night easy. Chris Newell was the star at the plate: 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. That’s the kind of game that sticks with you — timely, powerful, and he did damage when it mattered. Ryan Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, driving in a run and scoring three times. Alek Thomas added 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Noah Miller went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two steals — he’s moving, making things happen on the basepaths. Matt Gorski (1B) collected a double in a 2-for-5 night. Hyeseong Kim had an RBI and a steal. Zach Ehrhard drew two walks and drove in a run. Even James Tibbs III (RF) contributed two RBIs despite going hitless.

This was a complete performance from top to bottom. Ferris was untouchable. The bats were patient and efficient. And OKC showed you why they’re still in the conversation as a playoff contender in this league.
