Oklahoma City Comets (Triple-A)

We got a tight one in OKC. The Comets scraped past El Paso 5-4 in a game that came down to pitching depth. Jackson Ferris was the workhorse—seven strong innings, eight strikeouts, just one earned run. He gave us everything we needed through the middle innings, then Jerming Rosario had to clean up a messy save situation in the ninth (taking the blown save), but Nick Robertson came through with the win, keeping it clean in his frame.

Offensively, we had just enough. James Tibbs III was the standout—2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, plus he swiped a bag. Zach Ehrhard went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts but scored twice and stole a base—that’s the kind of contribution that matters when runs are scarce. Ryan Fitzgerald chipped in an RBI and a run on 2-for-5 work. This was grit over flash, and it got the job done.

Tulsa Drillers (Double-A)

Tulsa took care of business against Midland, 5-3, behind solid pitching and clutch hitting. Christian Zazueta earned the win after five innings of work—five strikeouts, one earned run on just one walk. That’s the kind of efficient outing that wins ballgames at this level. Carson Hobbs locked it down with a save, allowing nothing over his inning.

Chris Newell was the story at the plate. He went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs—that’s your power showing up when it counts. Griffin Lockwood-Powell added a double and a run on 2-for-4 action. Elijah Hainline drew two walks and scored a run despite going hitless; that’s the discipline we want to see from him at short.

Great Lakes Loons (High-A)

Great Lakes pulled off a 3-2 win at Lansing in what looked like a pitching-dominated affair. Matt Lanzendorfer was nearly untouchable through his 2.2 innings—four strikeouts, no walks, no runs—though he did pick up a blown save in the process. Davis Chastain came in to slam the door with a save, striking out two in his frame.

On the offensive side, Emil Morales did the heavy lifting. He went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and scored—one swing that accounted for two-thirds of our run total. Tight games like this at High-A show us who can deliver in tight spots. Morales delivered.

Ontario Tower Buzzers (Single-A)

Ontario got shutout by Stockton, 0-6. Francisco Espinoza went 2-for-4 behind the plate, but it wasn’t enough. Single-A road games against quality competition can be humbling, and this one was. Nothing to build on here except to regroup and move forward.
