Today we got to witness the first Spring Training game of the 2021 baseball season. There were plenty of prospect highlights in the Dodgers 2-1 win over the Oakland A’s. We already knew that both Edwin Uceta and DJ Peters were going to be featured in the game, but we were treated to so many more.
In the top of the 3rd inning, Zach McKinstry led off the inning with a line-drive single to left-center to get the inning started. He advanced to 2nd on the first of two walks to DJ Peters. After advancing to 3rd on a fly out to right field, McKinstry was able to score on a single by Corey Seager.

Edwin Uceta came into pitch the 3rd inning and opened it up with a strikeout of Buddy Reed. He then gave up a solid single to Seth Brown. Soon after, Tony Kemp grounded into a double play to end the inning and his outing.

In the 5th inning, Garrett Cleavinger and the defense struggled a bit. After giving up a run and the bases were loaded with two outs, Sheldon Neuse came up big on defense.
André Jackson had a nice 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout.

To finish off the game Michael Grove came in and struck out two of the batters he faced to get a 7 inning game Spring Training save. He really looked good today.
Michael Grove flashed two different breaking balls and located his fastball well in an impressive 1-2-3 seventh inning. A guy to watch as the spring moves forward. pic.twitter.com/QrSdPR22rv
