As we wrote two days ago today was the final day for the Dodgers to add players to the 40-man roster.
The Dodgers added right-handed pitchers Gerardo Carrillo, Andre Jackson and Edwin Uceta and outfielder Zach Reks to the 40-man roster. They are no longer eligible for the Rule 5 draft.

This is a momentous occasion for these players. From a personal perspective I met and covered Gerardo Carrillo, André Jackson and Edwin Uceta while covering the Quakes. They are outstanding young men and were very kind to me. Zach Reks has been a late bloomer with power at the plate. We’ll have some more to say about each of these players soon.
From André Jackson:
I’m very excited for me and my family. I know the end goal is to be in the big leagues but I’m very happy that the Dodgers believe in me and to that I’m taking the next step in my career.
The negative side is that players like Omar Estevez, Brett de Gues, Cody Thomas and Jeren Kendall are now subject to the Rule 5 draft. Frankly I am shocked as the Dodgers still have four more roster spaces to fill. Maybe more are still being added and we’ll keep you up to date.
