As was reported when the news broke, James Outman made his major league debut today. What a debut it was and we’ll try and capture all the moments from this memorable day.
First, Outman was interviewed before the game on Saturday, in which he did not play.

A little spotlight on Alex Vesia getting Outman’s home run ball.

Some kind of interesting “baptism” from Justin Turner. You are a big-leaguer, James Outman.

Some nice information about each of Outman’s hits. The homer was the least hardest hit ball. Crazy.
James Outman’s exit velos today
97.1 mph – homer
109.5 – single
104.3 – double109.5 gives him the third-highest max exit velo on the Dodgers this season, trailing Freddie Freeman (112.3) and Trayce Thompson (111.0)

A look back by the announcer who covered Outman at Ogden in 2018 for his professional debut.
Just looked it up. Was 0-for-23 before homering in Orem June 29. Average was at .198 heading into play Aug. 3, then slashed .356/.436/.621 with a 1.057 OPS the final 24 games of the season. That was the turnaround right there.
