Glendora, California native and life-long Dodger fan, outfielder DJ Peters, has been called up to the big league team. The bad news is that fellow rookie utility man Zach McKinstry was put on the injured list (IL).
The Dodgers recalled OF DJ Peters from the alternate site and placed IF/OF Zach McKinstry on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain, retroactive April 22.

DJ Peters is the 12th player from the Dodgers’ famed 2016 draft to make a Major League roster. I would expect him to get some starts against left-handed starting pitchers and some late-inning defensive replacement appearances. DJ had a nice Spring Training before fizzling out in about the last week. He played some excellent center field and displayed some big-time power.
Let’s never forget his two-home run performance off of Madison Bumgarner during a rehabilitation assignment for the former Giants pitcher.
1st player ever to hit 2 🚀 off Madison Bumgarner in the same inning? #Dodgers prospect DJ Peters. Last night. Watch: https://t.co/I5WmhKSVmJ pic.twitter.com/coaKUUfLlx

A lot of us have been waiting for DJ Peters to get called up. Many people hold him in very high regard as a person. It will be interesting to see if he can put his excellent power to good use for the Dodgers. Best of luck, DJ Peters.
