We have started our Dodgers prospect 2023 review and 2024 preview of players in the system. Based on a poll, we went with the catchers first. As has been the recent trend the Dodgers have had a great run of catchers come through their system. A few of the most recent graduates from their system include Will Smith, Keibert Ruiz, and Connor Wong. The latter two were used in trades that netted the Dodgers Max Scherzer, Trea Turner, and Mookie Betts.
In the current farm system, five catchers are in the Dodgers’ top 30 according to MLB Pipeline; Dalton Rushing, Diego Cartaya, Thayron Liranzo, Yeiner Fernandez, and Hunter Feduccia. For reasons unknown, Jesus Galiz dropped out of the top 30. Please take a look at our video overview on YouTube with a couple of clips featuring Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation.
Go and vote for the next position here.
Just by looking at this video, it is clear that the Dodgers are loaded at catcher. It seems that whatever position we cover, that will be the same issue. There are too many excellent prospects in the system. Not one is a big-name prospect but the Dodgers seem to keep delivering players to the major leagues. The 2023 NL Divisional Playoff series roster will contain rookies, at a minimum, James Outman, Bobby Miller, and probably two of Ryan Pepiot, Emmet Sheehan, and Michael Grove.
Final Thoughts
We look forward to bringing a lot of content over the next few months. Position coverages will occur weekly (as availability allows), the Rule 5 draft, the Winter Meetings, and more. There will be more web page articles like this one about Thayron Liranzo. Your comments are welcome as we want to make sure the customer is satisfied. Thank you for reading, watching, liking, and subscribing. We appreciate you all and we’ll see you on the “Internet Machine”.
